ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture is the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body; it has been practiced for over 2000 years as a method of balancing the body and restoring health. Western Acupuncture, a modified version of traditional Chinese Acupuncture however is based on a medical diagnosis.
Benefits of Acupuncture:
Induces relaxation and the management of pain via a release of opioids which relaxes muscles, joints and reduces inflammation
Boosts the immune system which increases antibodies to destroy antigens which may help improve asthma and hay fever.
Reduces anxiety, stress and improves a sense of wellbeing
Causes an inflammatory response which in turn dilates the blood vessels to increase blood supply enabling more nutrients and oxygen to reach the tissues.

Cosmetic Acupuncture
Acupuncture has historically been used to treat facial conditions for example TGM and migraines. Traditional acupuncture has a longstanding history of facial enhancement however only recently has facial enhancement acupuncture been sought in the Western world as an alternative to invasive treatments. Cosmetic facial acupuncture has gained its reputation for rejuvenating the skin, lifting various facial muscles, toning the skin as well as the elimination of fine lines and wrinkles.
The insertion of needles into the face stimulates the muscles to lift the face; needles in fine lines and wrinkles cause a healing response in which natural collagen is produced and in turn ‘fills out’ the line or wrinkle. The results are subtle and require maintenance to give long term, natural results.
A holistic approach is taken in acupuncture facial enhancement, treatment will also be given for relaxation, lifestyle advice will be offered and a facial massage to complete session.
What to Expect
Your first treatment will last approximately 1 hour to gain a full detailed history and carryout the treatment. Each subsequent visit will last 30 - 40 minutes. You will require 8-10 treatments and recommended 2 treatments per week for the first 2 weeks and weekly thereafter. Booster sessions may be required on a monthly or 6 monthly basis depending on your condition.
